When you've made the decision to invest in a pool or spa, how do you choose which one will work best? There will be a number of determining factors that will ultimately swing you towards one direction or the other.

What do you want to do with your pool?
If you plan to do laps or want the whole family to be able to get wet together, then a pool is probably the best option.
If it's just the two of you and you just want something cool to get into to take off the summer heat, then a spa may be more economical. Spas though can more be therapeutic with massaging jets.
How much space do you have?
This is a big determining factor in what you are actually able to install. If you have a very tiny backyard with limited space, then a spa is probably the more logical choice.
If you have a larger backyard with ample space, then a pool installation may be more suitable.
What is your budget?
Probably the biggest factor when thinking about a pool or spa. Obviously a pool is a lot larger than a spa so is more expensive to install, clean and maintain.
Do you want to use it year round?
Traditionally a spa was able to be used year round as it they are generally heated but modern pools can be heated as well with solar panels.
