Tippler’s Passage

Located on South Stradbroke Island, this spot is known for its abundance of flathead from June to November. Simply make your way over from the North Gold Coast mainland to South Stradbroke Island on your inflatable boat and enjoy exploring the little land banks and islands along the way.

Tweed River

Stretching from Tweed hospital to the wharf, this spot is rich in jewfish, kingfish, bream and flathead. While you can just fish from the shore, by adventuring out across the river in your inflatable boat, you can target weeded areas and hit the flathead jackpot.

The Southport Seaway

Hands down one of the Gold Coast’s best fishing locations, the Seaway is brimming with yellowtail, kingfish, jewfish, whitehead, flathead and more. This man-made passageway to the ocean has become a haven for fish of all varieties. Set up along the rocky walls of the spit or venture out into open waters in your boat.

Paradise Point Foreshore

Little known to many Gold Coast locals, the Paradise Point Foreshore is a beautiful sheltered area perfect for beginner fishers. A perfect place for teaching the kids how to drop a line, you can catch some decent sized fish along the beach here. But if you’re looking for some larger nibbles, then take your inflatable boat out closer towards the nearby mangroves.
